Between March 16 -18, 2023, youth from across Oʻahu participated in HPJʻs Youth Liberation Camp where they received political education on the history of Hawaii, environmental racism and climate justice and began thinking about how to organize their own grassroots campaigns. This was a great kick off to our developing program and these youth really began to engage in the difference between activism and organizing, hungry for ways to think about longer term strategies and to gain the training and skills necessary to build power for the issues that matter to them. We look forward to continue growing and building with these amazing critical thinkers and developing leaders.
