Meet our new student intern! Kaiya Laguardia-Yonamine is a junior at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa studying Journalism and Ethnic Studies. Born and raised on the lands of the Multnomah and Cowlitz peoples (Portland, Oregon), she is now residing on the island of Oʻahu. Kaiya is passionate about issues relating to indigenous rights, climate justice, militarization in the Pacific, and empowering media representation of under- and mis-represented communities across Oceania. Kaiya will be helping us develop a new promotional video and will be coming on as a member of  our Youth Organizing Committee.
